HAULR ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of independent owner-operator truckers who use our mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, USDOT number, and MC number. Your DOT number is verified against the FMCSA SAFER database.

Load & Business Data: Load details (routes, rates, broker info), compliance documents, uploaded files (BOLs, rate confirmations), and financial summaries you enter or import.

Documents: Files you upload or photograph, including BOLs, rate sheets, insurance certificates, CDL images, and other compliance documents. Documents may be analyzed by AI to extract dates, names, and document numbers.

Location Data: With your permission, we collect location data to track active deliveries. Location is only accessed when you are actively using the tracking feature.

Device Information: Device type, operating system, push notification token, and app version for delivering notifications and troubleshooting.

Email Data: If you connect your email (Gmail or Outlook), we access emails matching freight/load patterns to automatically import load data. We do not read or store unrelated emails.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide and operate the HAULR app and its features
• Verify your carrier authority via FMCSA
• Track and manage your loads, compliance, and documents
• Send push notifications for compliance deadlines and load updates
• Analyze uploaded documents using AI to extract relevant information
• Import load data from connected email accounts
• Calculate revenue, costs, and profitability metrics
• Facilitate shipper rating requests via email

3. Data Storage & Security

We use Supabase Auth for authentication with bcrypt password hashing. Optional biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) is handled entirely on your device.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared only in these limited cases:

• Rating Requests: When you request a rating, the shipper receives your name, carrier name, and load details via email.
• Document Analysis: Uploaded documents are sent to AI services (Anthropic Claude) for analysis. Documents are processed and not retained by the AI provider.
• FMCSA Verification: Your DOT number is sent to the FMCSA SAFER system for carrier verification.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government regulation.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Export all your data at any time via Settings > Export My Data.
• Delete: Delete your account and all associated data via Settings > Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
• Correct: Update your profile information at any time.
• Opt Out: Disable any notification category in Settings. Disconnect email sync at any time.

These rights apply to all users regardless of location, in compliance with CCPA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy regulations.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data (profile, loads, documents, compliance records, ratings, push tokens) is permanently deleted from our systems.

7. Children's Privacy

HAULR is designed for professional truckers and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
